Fleurs House, 62 Pluscarden Road, Elgin

Fleurs House, located at 62 Pluscarden Road in Elgin, was built in 1829, likely by William Robertson, with additions made around 1842. The house is constructed of tooled rubble with tooled and polished ashlar dressings. It is a two-storey building over a raised basement, with a similar height wide single bay that was raised to two storeys in the later 19th century. There is a wing set back at the east gable.

The entrance is on the raised ground floor and features a simple pilastered doorpiece, accessed by a flight of steps. The doorway is flanked by projecting canted windows at the raised basement and ground floor levels, which are linked by an ashlar parapet that is raised in the center and supported by a pair of ashlar pilasters. A decorative cast-iron balustrade encloses the verandah.

On the raised first floor, there is a window in the wing set within a round-headed recess, which is linked to the window below and a gabled dormer above by ashlar facing. All windows retain their original lying-pane glazing in the upper sashes. The house features coped end stacks and shallow piended slate roofs.

Inside, little of interest remains. The property is enclosed by coped rubble garden walls, with a carriage entrance flanked by simple gatepiers.
