Description
The lodge at Dr Gray's Hospital, located at 32 Pluscarden Road in Elgin, was built in 1887, likely designed by William Reid following a design by William Robertson. This classical building is single storey and features three bays, with a prominent central portico that has a pediment and pedimented gables facing Pluscarden Road and the hospital. The exterior is constructed from finely hammered ashlar stone, with polished ashlar dressings. All windows have moulded lugged architraves, and there is an eaves cornice. At the rear, there are single storey additions made of coursed rubble. The building has a corniced stack and a slate roof.
