Ingleside, 9 West Road, Elgin

Ingleside is a single-storey house built in 1816 in the style of James Gillespie Graham, situated on a raised basement. The building features an asymmetrical design with four bays. The basement and flanks are constructed from coursed rubble, while the main structure is made of regularly tooled ashlar with polished ashlar dressings. The entrance porch is slightly advanced and is accessed by a bridge that oversails the raised basement. The front door and all ground floor windows have rectangular hoodmoulds, and there is a canted bay window on the east gable with Gothic arch moulds that rises to full height.

On the north elevation, there is a bowed bay window that also rises to full height, featuring a bowed piended roof and long windows with a Gothic glazing pattern. The roof is shallow piended with deep stone eaves.

Inside, the entrance hall boasts Gothic rib vaulting, and the original front door has a Gothic glazing pattern. There are also original Gothic panelled doors. The property is enclosed by rubble garden walls.
