West Lodge, 2 West Road, Elgin

West Lodge, located at 2 West Road in Elgin, is an early 19th century, two-storey dwelling with a dormerless attic. The building features three bays and a central door, constructed from coursed rubble with tooled ashlar dressings, raised margins, and a moulded eaves cornice. It has 12-pane sash windows and a slightly later square rubble porch with chamfered angles. To the south gable, there is a near contemporary two-storey, two-bay wing.

Surrounding the property is a low rubble wall topped with dressed stone coping and some contemporary cast-iron railing.

Inside, the lodge boasts a stone staircase with a timber and decorative cast-iron balustrade, a timber handrail, and moulded nosings on each tread that return down the face to the wall. The principal rooms feature moulded cornices, and the first-floor drawing room has decorative plaster moulding. There are also six-panelled doors and shutters, plain timber chimneypieces, and architraved doorways.
