Connet Hill, West Road, Elgin

Connet Hill is a two-storey house located on West Road in Elgin, designed by Marshall Mackenzie in 1913. The exterior is finished with white harling and features five asymmetrical bays on the south elevation. The east elevation includes an entrance porch with an extended canopy supported by a single Roman Doric pillar. At the southeast corner, there is a projecting bowed bay that rises to the first floor, topped with a shallow bowed piended roof. The southwest side has a simple single bay with a piended roof and a balcony above the first-floor window. The central three bays on the ground floor are bowed, featuring a long window, with three dormers above in a mansard style. A pergola supported by two Roman Doric pillars is also present. The house has large front windows with modern multi-pane glazing, coped and harled ridge stacks, and a piended platformed slate roof.
