Description
Old Mills, located on Old Mills Road in Elgin, dates from the late 18th to early 19th century, with a kiln added in the mid to later 19th century. The building is constructed from whitewashed rubble with tooled dressings. It features a wheel still in place to the west and the frame of a second wheel to the east. The roof is slated with various types of slates, including Welsh and Banffshire slates, and has a square pyramidal roofed ventilator. Additionally, there is a whitewashed rubble store and cartshed built on arches that span the mill lade, with a weather-boarded first floor and a slate roof.
