Description

1819, remodelled and enlarged, William Robertson, 1837.

Long N entrance front single storey and attic centre block

flanked by 2 storey, single pavilions with shallow pyramidal

roofs. To S elevation single storey and basement block with

centre bowed entrance windows, bow windows to gables;

curved shallow piended roofs; 12-pane glazing, some blind.

Projecting ground floor painted ashlar, remaining

elevations squared coursed rubble with ashlar dressings.

Central pedimented porch with outer piers and inner Ionic

columns, linked to columned and balustraded loggias at

outer bays by 4 projecting ground floor bays, each with

recessed, architraved apron panelled windows. Single

storey, 3-bay S elevation with 12-pane tall sash and case

windows, 1st bays of return elevations bowed. Shallow,

piended roofs with modern dormers in S block; symmetrically

placed corniced stacks. Extended service wing against S

facing vinery wall (glass house removed; new window slapped)

extending E with 2-storey terminal pavilion.
