Description
Millbank is an early 19th-century tall two-storey house situated on the south elevation basement, featuring an asymmetrical gabled design with three bays. The building is constructed of rubble with ashlar dressings. The garden front is prominent, with a central bay that includes a canted window at both the basement and ground floor levels. To the west, there is a square projecting porch with a round-headed doorway, which is flanked by semi-octagonal piers that extend through the parapet, topped with a semi-circular central crest. Above the porch, there is a gablet-headed window, flanked by two gabled bays; the southern bay is taller and more advanced, while the northern bay faces East High Street and has some altered window features. All windows are transomed and fitted with lying-pane glazing. The house is topped with batteries of tall octagonal chimney stacks, stone gable finials, and a slate roof. The high rubble walls are finished with dressed stone copes and feature gabled entrances leading to East High Street.
