County Hotel, 15, 17 High Street, North Berwick

The County Hotel, located at 15 and 17 High Street in North Berwick, is an early 19th century hotel featuring three bays and three storeys with an attic, along with a later rear wing. The building is constructed of random rubble with ashlar dressings and is rendered on the north and south sides. It has painted margins, raised cills, a base, a band, and an eaves course.

On the north elevation facing the street, the hotel has a pub front designed by J W Hardie in 1896, which includes pilasters, a central doorway with a pediment, and an additional doorway to the east. The doors are panelled, and there is a painted fascia with a moulded cornice. The first and second floors each have three windows.

There are two slate-hung dormers on the roof. The south elevation features a central projecting stair block with a piend roof and flanking dormers, as well as flat-roofed extensions. The sash and case windows have plate glass glazing, and the roof is slated with plain skews and gable stacks.

Inside, the public bar showcases Edwardian bar fronts.
