Buck Hotel, 15, 17 High Street, Langholm

The Buck Hotel, located at 15 and 17 High Street in Langholm, is likely from the early 19th century, with later additions and possibly some earlier materials incorporated. The building is two storeys high and has three bays, featuring a central door. Its exterior is pebble-dashed with painted ashlar chamfered margins, and the windows are single-pane sashes. There is an eaves and lintel band, and the steep-pitched roof has been re-slated, with two piended canted dormers that have bracketed eaves. The south gable is skewed, and the hotel was expanded in the 19th century, resulting in twin gables.

Inside, the entrance hall has a tiled floor, timber-boarded panelling, and a small bellbox. The bar area features timber-boarded panelling, a boarded bar counter with a rare surviving water tap, a timber gantry with turned spindles, and a timber chimneypiece.

At the rear of the property, there is a barn that has a notable early 19th century pegged timber trussed roof.
