Description

Probably 1830/40. 2-storey house facing across roadway of

Townhead Bridge. 4 (3 + 1) bays. Built of green whinstone

rubble with contrasting long and short worked grey whita

stone dressings. "Central" panelled door in cavetto reveals

with decorative fanlight, cornice and fluted frieze with urn

ornament; 2nd door (probably a pend originally, now with

modern door, and incorporated as part of house) in 4th bay.

Sash windows throughout with 4-pane glazing pattern, 1st

floor margins linked to eaves band. Corniced end stacks;

slated roof, piended at N.
