Description

Circa 1820/30. Symmetrical 3-bay villa with classical

details; 2 storeys, built on slope of river bank, (E)

elevation to High Street treated as single storey with sunk

rusticated basement. Ashlar.

E ELEVATION: architraved openings, steps and platt spanning

basement area lead to central recessed panelled door, flank

elevations also 3 bays. W elevation with central door with

sidelights, timber-mullioned window over. Sash windows,

mostly with 8-pane glazing pattern. 2 dormers. Symmetrically

placed stacks. Piended and platformed slate roof. Set behind

simple cast-iron railings to E.
