Description

Circa 1893. Symmetrical classical double villa of 6 bays. 2

storeys, attic and basement. Polished ashlar, stonecleaned.

All windows with polished raised margins and transoms.

Central single storey 2-bay porch with architraved doorpieces

to E and W with carved frieze panel; bracketted cornice

and blocking course. Ground floor windows with frieze panel

and triangular pediment. 1st floor windows with bracketted

cills, bipartite over porch. Sash windows, plate glass glazing.

Band courses at ground and 1st floor cills, at 1st floor

transom level and lintels. Eaves strings, plain eaves cornice.

Steeply pitched and platformed slate roofs with tripartite

pedimented timber framed dormers.

Droved ashlar flanks with windows detailed as above. To W

external flight of steps to 1st floor flat (modern alteration).

Tall corniced wallhead stacks flank tripartite dormer window.

Rear elevation with 2 single windows detailed as above with

balcony at ground linking full-height 5-light square bay

windows, corniced and with balustraded parapet. Dormers as

above.

Low coped ashlar wall to garden with square corniced gatepiers supporting cast-iron lamp brackets.
