46 Fortrose Street, Glasgow

46 Fortrose Street is a classical villa built around 1860. It is a two-storey building with no decorative style, featuring three bays and a single set-back entrance bay on the east side. The exterior is finished in painted ashlar, and it has sash and case windows set within architraves, some of which have four-pane glazing.

On the main elevation, the ground floor windows have raked architraves and boldly projecting blind boxes with pendants. The first-floor windows feature corbelled cills. There is a projecting single-storey entrance located in the re-entrant angle, which has an architraved doorway topped with a pediment that includes a dentil band, flanked by piers and a blocking course. To the right, there is a bipartite window, and the first floor has a set-back bipartite window. The ground floor also includes a canted window on the east return. The roof is slate, with boldly projecting eaves and axial wallhead stacks that have modillion cornices.

On the west return, the first bay mirrors the main elevation, while the second bay features a small first-floor window with lugged cills.
