52 Partickhill Road, Glasgow

This building at 52 Partickhill Road in Glasgow dates from around 1856 and is a two-storey classical house with no decorative style, featuring three bays. At the rear, there is a two-storey kitchen wing attached to the main structure. A modern single-storey addition made of polished ashlar is located on the west side, which includes a central entrance that is ogee-arched and flanked by engaged turrets. The left bay has a full-height, semi-circular bow window with plain friezes on each floor. The house has sash and case windows, and the ground floor is highlighted by graduated string courses and a cornice. To the right of the entrance, there is a projecting bay with a bipartite square oriel window above, supported by a pilaster mullion and responds. The roofs are independently pitched and covered with slate, and there are corniced axial stacks. The eastern elevation of the kitchen wing features pointed arched windows on the ground floor.
