Description
Late 18th century. 2-storey 3-bay former house with 2-bay single storey and attic addition. Harl with painted ashlar dressings; base course, quoin strips.
Door off-centre to left with cornice and 2-leaf panelled doors, flanked to right by small window; larger window in outer bays and regular fenestration at 1st floor. Single storey bays to left with door to extreme left and window to right under steeply pitched roof with tall canted, piend-roofed dormer. Framed signboard to N gable
Timber sash and case windows with small-pane glazing patterns (some plate glass lower sashes). Grey slates: shallow pitch to main roof. Tall, square mutual gable stack, clay cans.
INTERIOR: Early 20th C fitting-out of bar to S and lounge to N - central vertically-boarded timber bar, timber fireplaces with overmantles in S and E walls. Cast-iron fireplaces in S wall of lounge, anaglypta wainscoting and frieze, and beamed timber ceiling. Timber vestibule with etched glass panels.
