25, 26, 27, 28, 29 Academy Court, Castle Street, Irvine

25, 26, 27, 28, 29 Academy Court is a later 19th-century, two-storey, three-bay classical house with a rectangular plan. The front and east side are finished in ashlar, featuring channelled rustication at the ground floor, while the west side and rear are harled and painted. The building has a base course and a first-floor cill cornice on the front and sides, along with a partially blocking course and rusticated quoins. There is a portico at the entrance front.

The north (principal) elevation is symmetrical, featuring a central flued Roman Doric portico with a deep cornice. On either side of the portico are tripartite windows without margins, set in shallow full-height advanced bays. The first floor has an architraved window in the center, flanked by architraved tripartite windows.

The east elevation is also symmetrical with three bays, continuing the ashlar from the north elevation. The ground floor windows lack margins, while the first-floor windows are architraved.

The south elevation is a symmetrical single bay with a plain entrance door at the center and a window above it with plain margins.

The west elevation is asymmetrical, consisting of two bays, with one bay in the center and another bay to the right that is offset at the first floor, featuring plain margins.

The building has replacement windows and a shallow piended roof covered in grey slate, with shouldered wallhead stacks at the center of the east and west elevations. The interior was not seen in 1996.
