24 Seagate, Irvine

24 Seagate in Irvine is a late 19th-century, single-storey, three-bay cottage that flanks Seagate Castle. The building is constructed from stugged cream sandstone, which is squared and snecked on the sides and rear, and features a deep base course. It has roll-moulded surrounds and a moulded eaves course. The central door is modern and accessed by two steps, topped with an unusual, bowed, bracketed fanlight.

To the right, there is a gabled bay with a bipartite window and a carved shield panel in the gablehead. The left bay has a single window and a round-arched dormer that breaks the eaves above, also featuring a small shield crest in the gablehead. The left return gable is canted. The cottage has modern glazing, graded grey slates, and a Velux rooflight. Coped ashlar stacks are present, along with crowstepped gables that have beak skewputts.

Additionally, there are gatepiers consisting of a high, coped rubble wall with a vehicular gate to the left of the house, which is flanked by corniced ashlar gatepiers.
