Description

Earlier 19th century. 2-storey, basement and attic, 2-bay classically detailed house. Painted, coursed, stugged sandstone front, rubble stone to sides and rear, eaves band, cornice and blocking course, quoin strips ashlar margins.

SW (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: bay to left, 9-step stone stairs with ornamental cast-iron rails leading to consoled, corniced doorpiece, at principal floor, 2-leaf doors, rectangular fanlight window at 1st floor, piended dormer above, window in basement to left of stairs. Bay to right, steps descending to door and window in basement, window at principal floor with corniced head, window at 1st floor, piended dormer above.

NW ELEVATION: gable end, harled.

SE ELEVATION: gable end.

NE ELEVATION: 3 bays, projecting bowed stairtower to centre.

Plate glass timber sash and case windows, replacement tiled roof, rubble stone gablehead stack to SE, brick to NW.

INTERIOR: not seen 1997.

BOUNDARY WALLS: rubble stone boundary walls to N, S, low coped wall to W.
