Description
Earlier 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay, rectangular-plan villa. Coursed sandstone to front, rendered to sides and rear, painted all round. Ashlar margins. Base course, eaves band and projecting cornice. Pilaster quoins.
W (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: symmetrical. Central entrance door with cornice and deep blocking course, panelled door, bays flanking with matching windows at ground and 1st floors, plain painted margins.
N ELEVATION: blank wall, continuation of eaves cornice.
S ELEVATION: as N elevation.
E ELEVATION: 3 bays. 2-storey, bowed stair-tower projecting to centre; window at 1st floor, entrance door on S face in re-entrant angle with rectangular fanlight with curvilinear geometric astragals, flush- panelled door, small window above. Bay to left with windows in plain margins at ground and 1st floors. Bay to right with lean-to at ground floor and window.
Modern glazing. Piended roof, grey slate, rendered stacks to centre at eaves to N and S.
INTERIOR: not seen, 1996.
BOUNDARY WALLS AND OUTBUILDINGS: rubble stone outbuilding to E. Low rubble stone boundary wall to W, square gatepiers with pyramidal tops.
