Campbellfield, 14 Kilwinning Road, Irvine

Campbellfield is a classical house from the earlier to mid 19th century, featuring a single storey and attic with an approximate L-plan design. The building has three bays and is constructed of painted ashlar with rubble stone on the sides and rear. It includes a base course, eaves band, cornice, and blocking course, all with plain margins.

On the west elevation, the central door is topped by a rectangular fanlight and is flanked by a porch supported by Roman Doric columns. The architrave and frieze are plain, and the cornice continues with the eaves cornice. Above the door, there is a small additional gabled dormer, while the flanking bays are symmetrical with canted piended dormers above.

The south elevation features a blank gable end with square, chamfered gatepiers on the left side. The north elevation has a gable end with one window, and a timber shed built against the wall. The east elevation includes an advanced section with a later harled addition, featuring one window on the east face and two windows on the north and south faces, with one bay to the left of the advanced section.

The house has modern replacement windows and has been re-roofed with grey machine tiles, featuring stone skews and corniced ashlar gablehead stacks. The interior was not seen in 1997.

The boundary walls consist of rubble stone on the north, east, and south sides, while the west side is rendered and painted. The west elevation also has square, chamfered gatepiers.
