Description
38, 40, 42, and 44 Burns Street in Irvine are early 19th century, two-storey terraced houses that form part of a wider terrace. They are constructed from squared and snecked whinstone, featuring painted ashlar margins, a base course, and an eaves band.
The right side of the terrace has three bays, with a central door flanked on the right by a former door that is now blocked and a shop window. There is another door located towards the penultimate left. The remaining bays and the first floor display regular fenestration.
The ground floor has 12-pane timber sash and case windows on the left, while the other windows have been replaced with modern versions. The houses have a grey slate roof and harled mutual gable stacks.
