9 Kilwinning Road, Irvine

9 Kilwinning Road is a mid to later 19th century, two-storey, three-bay classical house. The building features painted ashlar on the front, with rubble stone on the sides and rear. It has a base course, an eaves band, a mutule cornice, a blocking course, rusticated quoins, and raised moulded margins.

On the east elevation, there is a central doorway beneath an Ionic porch, which has a plain architrave and frieze, along with a dentil cornice. Above the doorway, there is a window centered on the first floor. To the right, there is a projecting tripartite window at the ground floor, with a tripartite window centered above on the first floor. To the left, a canted window is located at the ground floor, with a tripartite window centered above.

The south elevation features a gable end with a garden wall abutting it. The north elevation also has a gable end, with an addition at the ground floor. The building has varied replacement windows, a dark grey slate roof, stone skews, and ashlar gablehead stacks. It includes a full complement of square-section cans.

The interior has been converted for office use. The boundary walls consist of a low banded ashlar wall to the east, with square, decorated gatepiers topped with caps at the north and south entrances.
