77 Lauriston Place, Edinburgh

77 Lauriston Place is an early 19th-century, two-storey, three-bay plain classical house, featuring a lower recessed two-storey single bay on the right side. The building is constructed of painted ashlar with painted ashlar dressings, while the sides are made of coursed rubble. It has a base course, a modillioned eaves cornice (though the lower bay lacks modillions), and a blocking course with projecting cills. The entrance includes a timber panelled door with a plate glass fanlight set in a moulded surround. There is a round-headed stair window on the west elevation.

The house has timber sash and case windows with two-pane glazing and is topped with grey slates. Only one corniced ashlar stack with circular cans is visible.

In front of the house, there are later cast-iron railings mounted on an ashlar-coped low rubble wall, alongside an earlier high rubble wall that borders the garden.
