Description
40 Lauriston Street is an earlier 19th century, four-storey, five-bay plain classical tenement. It is constructed of droved ashlar sandstone and features a base course and an eaves cornice. The windows have narrow polished ashlar surrounds, and the building is accented with long and short quoins. The façade is regularly fenestrated and includes a Doric-pilastered doorpiece with foliate necking, as well as a fluted frieze adorned with rosettes at the cornice. The windows are fitted with 12-pane glazing in timber sash and case frames.
