25, 27 Montrose Terrace, Edinburgh

25 and 27 Montrose Terrace in Edinburgh, built around 1820, is a three-storey, five-bay plain classical tenement of flats. The building features a front of droved ashlar stone, with rubble at the rear. It has a basecourse, a band course, cill courses on the upper storeys, an eaves course, and a blocking course. The façade is regularly fenestrated. The central entrance has a timber panelled door with a plate glass fanlight, set within a corniced and pilastered doorpiece. To the outer right, there is a slightly recessed bay that also has a timber panelled door and a plate glass fanlight.

The roof is gabled and covered with grey slate, featuring ashlar coped skews and corniced stacks with circular cans. The first-floor windows have traditional 2-pane glazing in sash and case style, while the glazing in the other windows is non-traditional.
