29, 31, 35 Montrose Terrace, Edinburgh

29, 31, and 35 Montrose Terrace in Edinburgh are two three-storey, four-bay tenements built around 1820, designed in a plain classical style. They feature a central stair and shops on the ground floor, constructed from coursed ashlar stone. The buildings have a base course, a band course, and cill courses on the upper floors, along with an eaves course and a blocking course.

The third bays from the left and right have timber panelled doors with plate glass fanlights, set within corniced and pilastered surrounds, while there are blind windows above. In the center, there is a timber panelled door leading to the flats, also with a plate glass fanlight. To the right of the central door, there is a later bipartite window.

The sash and case windows predominantly feature plate glass glazing, with some having 12-pane glazing. Some windows show evidence of working timber panelled interior shutters. The roofs are covered with grey slate and have ashlar coped skew stones. The buildings also have plain corniced stacks with circular cans.
