1-3 Lauriston Terrace, Edinburgh

1-3 Lauriston Terrace is a five-storey and basement tenement block built around 1820. The building features droved ashlar stone at the ground level, with rubble on the upper floors, as well as the basement, sides, and rear. There is a dividing band between the ground and first floors, and a cill course at the fourth floor. The façade is regularly fenestrated, although the right bay is blind. The entrance has timber panelled doors topped with three-pane fanlights.

The windows are timber sash and case, with 12-pane glazing. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are stone skews. Corniced stacks with circular cans are located at the ridge, with one at the wallhead.

The terrace at the ground floor is supported by cast-iron pillars, and the terrace and steps are adorned with cast-iron railings featuring fleur-de-lys and pine-cone designs.
