3-11 Archibald Place, Edinburgh

3-11 Archibald Place is a four-storey and basement tenement block built around 1820. The building features a seven-bay façade with channelled polished ashlar at the ground level and droved ashlar with polished dressings above, including droved stone at the basement. There are dividing bands between the basement and ground floors, as well as between the ground and first floors. Cill courses are present on the first, second, and third floors, topped with an eaves cornice. The first-floor windows have corniced moulded surrounds, and the timber panelled doors are adorned with sunburst fanlights set in alternating round- and flat-headed surrounds. The entrance is accessed via stone steps and platts that arch over the basement areas. A pilaster strip is located at the south end of the building, while the south elevation is harled.

The windows are fitted with 12-pane glazing in timber sash and case style. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there is a corniced stack at the gable end with circular cans.

The boundary wall features spear-headed railings mounted on low ashlar-coped walls that enclose the basement areas and steps.
