Annville, 96 Ravenscroft Road, Gilmerton, Edinburgh

Annville is a classical house built around 1800, located at 96 Ravenscroft Road in Gilmerton, Edinburgh. The building is two stories tall and has three bays, with a later one-bay, recessed two-story wing to the northwest and a modern single-storey harled addition at the rear. It features squared and coursed rubble with ashlar dressings, a base course, a cornice, and a blocking course.

The southeast elevation, or front, has a slightly advanced center bay made of ashlar, which includes a modern entrance at the ground floor. The door has a plate glass fanlight and is framed by a polished ashlar Roman Doric pilastered and corniced doorpiece with an entablature. Above the entrance, there is a window at the first floor, and there are renewed modern 12-pane uPVC windows flanking both the ground and first floors. The recessed wing to the left is constructed in coursed ashlar and features a window at the ground floor.

The rear elevation includes a modern piended addition at the ground floor and three windows at the first floor with plate glass sashes. The roof is covered with grey slates and has ashlar coped wallhead stacks with a simple cornice, although the cans are missing. The interior was not seen during the last inspection in 1995.
