4, 6 High Street, North Berwick

This mid-19th century, two-storey building is located on a corner site at 4 and 6 High Street in North Berwick. It features coursed rubble construction, with the ground floor rendered and the gable harled, all painted.

On the south elevation, there is a base course with a central plate glass shop front, flanked by fanlit doorways. To the right, there is a panelled door. The outer angles have chamfered arrises, and a moulded cornice separates the storeys. The central first-floor window has a raised margin and a recessed apron below, with sash windows that include four-pane upper sections and plate glass lower panels. The building also has a moulded eaves cornice and an unusual decorative cast-iron gutter. A section of the former mutual gable remains on the blank east gable.

The building features a canted 19th-century dormer, ashlar gable head stacks, plain skews, and a slate roof.
