Queen's Hotel, 9 Allardice Street, Stonehaven

The Queen's Hotel, located at 9 Allardice Street in Stonehaven, is an earlier 19th-century building that was reworked in the early 20th century. It is a two-storey and attic, three-bay hotel that has been given an Edwardian style in the English Tudor manner. The exterior is harled with stone margins and features stone mullions.

The principal elevation is symmetrical, with the central bay at ground level featuring a corbelled semicircular pediment above a panelled timber door, which has a plate glass fanlight and narrow flanking lights. The flanking bays contain tripartite windows. On the first floor, there is a single window in the center flanked by canted oriel windows that lead to four-light windows in the gableheads, along with a flat-roofed four-light dormer at the center.

The south elevation, facing Cameron Street, is three-storey and includes a variety of elements, such as a door in a broad gabled bay to the right and a small window that breaks the eaves into a piended dormerhead.

The windows feature 12-pane and plate glass patterns in timber sash and case styles, with decorative leaded glazing on the ground floor of the principal elevation and diamond-pattern leaded casement windows in the gableheads. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped harled stacks with cans, along with ashlar-coped skews and overhanging eaves.

Inside, the hotel has modern bars and some coloured and leaded glass features.
