Description
8 Allardice Street is a traditional terraced house dating from around 1800, with some alterations. It is two stories high with an attic and features three bays. The exterior is made of large blocks of squared and coursed rubble, and it has deep-set openings.
The west elevation is symmetrical, with a panelled timber door located in the center bay at ground level. To the right, there is a single window, and to the left, there is a broad garage opening that has been altered from a window and is now filled with vertically-boarded infill. The first floor has regular fenestration that abuts the eaves, with two polygonal-roofed slate-hung dormer windows over the outer bays, flanking a small modern rooflight at the center.
The windows are timber sash and case with plate glass glazing, while the dormers have uPVC windows. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there is a communal squared rubble chimney stack that has been heightened in brick, with ashlar-coped skews.
