49, 51 High Street, North Berwick

49 and 51 High Street in North Berwick is a two-storey tenement building from the later 18th century that has undergone significant alterations. The exterior is rubble rendered and lined to resemble ashlar on the northern street elevation.

The northern elevation features decorative roll-moulded shouldered surrounds around the ground floor openings, which were added in the later 19th century. There is a moulded cornice that separates the two storeys. The broad central double doorway is flanked by plate glass shop windows that still have their original glazing bars. To the left, there is a panelled door in the outer bay.

On the first floor, there are two bipartite windows that were enlarged in 1964.

The southern elevation includes piend-roofed extensions on both the right and left sides. The roof is made of concrete pantiles, and there are rubble gable stacks that have been raised in brick.
