67, 69, 71 High Street, North Berwick

79 and 81 High Street in North Berwick is a pair of shop tenements built in the later 19th century. This two-storey and attic building consists of three bays and was designed as part of a terrace. The structure features rubble stonework squared at the front, with ashlar margins, a base band, and eaves courses. The ground floor is rendered.

The north elevation facing the street displays a variety of shop fronts that share a similar style, featuring chamfered edges and mitred stops. Some fronts are symmetrical with three bays and additional doorways on the sides, though No 71 has been significantly altered. There are several deeply panelled doors with fanlights above them. The outer corners of the building are chamfered and corbelled to a square shape at the first floor on the left side, with an angled window above on the right. The first-floor windows are irregularly spaced but consistently detailed. The dormers are slate-hung, with some being gabled bipartite and others canted.

The east gable has a single shop window that matches the front design, while the west gable is blank except for a small first-floor light. The south elevation, which faces the rear, features an irregular assortment of gabled projections and additions. The gable of 2 Law Road, which is listed separately, is adjacent to number 59 and is currently integrated into the structure.

The building has a variety of glazing patterns in its sash and case windows, including both four-pane and plate glass. The skews are plain and raised, with coped gable head stacks and slate roofs.
