53, 55, and 57 High Street in North Berwick is a mid-18th century two-storey building, likely originally two houses. The structure is made of harled rubble, with the west gable rendered and features painted ashlar margins and a raised base course.

The north elevation, facing the street, has shop fronts. The right half features a three-bay pilastered shop front with panelled double doors in the center, flanked by plate glass windows. The left half has a central door with a plate glass shop window to the left and an altered panelled door to the right. On the first floor, there are four small-pane windows arranged in pairs in the center.

The west elevation has two small random windows at the gable, with a buttress at the base of the north angle. The rear elevation has been altered. The roof is pantiled, with plain raised skews and gable head stacks that have thacking stones, along with a brick addition to the east stack.
