Description
120 and 122 High Street in Ayr is an early 19th-century, three-storey, two-bay tenement building featuring a modern shopfront on the ground floor. The exterior is made of painted coursed and squared sandstone, with a cornice above the shopfront, a cill course at the second floor, and a cornice and blocking course at the top. The upper floors have architraved windows.
The west elevation, which serves as the entrance, has a central entrance to the shop on the ground floor, consisting of a two-leaf modern glazed door flanked by shop windows. The upper floors display regular, closely spaced windows.
The upper floors are fitted with timber sash and case windows, featuring six panes in the upper sashes. The roof is covered with grey slate and has broad brick gablehead stacks, with rubble and brick on the left side and circular cans. The interior was not seen in 1998.
