6 Airlie Street, Brechin

This early 19th century villa at 6 Airlie Street in Brechin features an ashlar facade with raised quoins. The building was originally symmetrical, with a two-storey, three-window front on the main block. It has a central porch with Roman Doric columns and steps, flanked by two later three-light canted bay windows. The cornice and blocking course are raised at the center, and the roof is piended and slated. The flanking walls are made of rubble and have tall stacks that have been partly rebuilt.

To the right, there is a single-storey wing with one window, also featuring a cornice and blocking course, and a piended slated roof. The left-hand wing has been raised to two storeys, with a first-floor window that rises through the cornice and blocking course, topped with a dormer-head gablet. The west gable has ground and two first-floor windows set in pinned rubble.

Additionally, there is a rubble garden wall with coping and two square rusticated gatepiers with cornices facing Airlie Street.
