Description

Opened 1888, Ross and Macbeth (Inverness). Early Geometrical

Cruciform, rubble-built. Nave with narrow aisles. South west

tower porch at second bay with temporary gabled timber

capping. Slim lancet openings, the larger ones at tower,

transepts E and W ends with hood moulds and cinquefoils in

gable apexes. Narrow steep roofed transepts and chancel.

Good interior with squat Peterhead granite circular piers

and tall shafts with boldly sculptured capitals of French

12th/13th century type. Tall slated roofs, tiled ridges and

finials.
