Description

1875-7, William Aitkenhead of Aitkenhead and Mason

(Arbroath). Detail alterations 1927-30 by County Architect's

Department. Snecked rubble with ashlar dressings and

string-courses, openings moulded. 2 storeys. Symmetrical

frontage 3 windows (centre bipartite) either side of

3-storey 3-window circular entrance tower corbelled on to

octagonal and back to circular. Concave-spired roof with open

louvre top and corbelled clock feature. Distinctive glazing

with margin pane divide. Ogee curves to hips of

slated roof.
