Description
Maisondieu Chapel, located on Maisondieu Lane in Brechin, was founded in 1256. It features an early pointed architectural style. The remains of the chapel include a rubble-built south wall and a doorway with two main orders, although the outer order has missing shafts, retaining only the capitals and bases. There are three windows with hood moulds positioned at an upper level above a string course, along with the remains of a fourth window on the west side. Inside, there is a piscina on the internal wall. Additionally, the moulding of an aperture jamb is built into the gable of the adjoining house. The chapel underwent repairs in 1900 by John Honeyman.
