Description
5 Swan Street in Brechin is a mid-19th century building designed in the Victorian Renaissance style. It features a symmetrical, 2-storey and attic facade with three windows, constructed from ashlar stone. The ends of the building are accentuated by rusticated pilasters and channelled base courses. The outer windows on the ground floor are bipartite and have pilasters with an entablature above them, while the first-floor windows are arched and adorned with decorated keyblocks. The central entrance is an arched door set within a rusticated architrave, also featuring a sculptured keyblock. Additional architectural details include sill string courses, a prominent cornice, and a panelled parapet decorated with three circular motifs. There are two dormers with triangular heads located behind the parapet.
