Description
St Regulus' Episcopal Church, located on Church Street in Cromarty, was built between 1906 and 1908 by architects Ross and Macbeth. This Gothic-style church has a rectangular shape and is oriented east to west, featuring a gabled porch on the southwest and the stump of an unfinished belfry on the southeast with a square flat roof. There is a vestry extension at the northeast corner. The church is constructed from red sandstone rubble with polished ashlar dressings and has a slate roof with a tiled ridge.
The east elevation showcases a triple lancet window with a niche above it, while the south elevation is illuminated by three tripartite windows and two bipartite windows, all of which are lancet-style. The north elevation features two of each type of window. Inside, the church has a plain interior with a single hammerbeam roof supported by corbels. The chancel arch is adorned with foliage decoration on its capitals. Notable interior features include a three-light stained glass window in the north wall, dedicated to Rev. Albert Chadwick in 1932, and a single-light window in the south wall in memory of Mrs. Innes, created in 1951, both by J. N. Comper.
