Pearsemont, 3 Pearse Street, Brechin

Pearsemont is a villa located at 3 Pearse Street in Brechin, built around 1830-1835. This two-storey building has an asymmetrical Italian style and is designed in an L shape, featuring a square stair tower in the re-entrant angle. The exterior is constructed of snecked rubble with ashlar dressings and was originally harled.

The south front has an advanced one-window gable on the left, a square central three-storey tower, and a screen wall with a mutuled cornice on the right. There is a glazed coupled-pier pilastrade verandah with a low-pitched slated roof and wide bracketed eaves along the tower and screen wall section of the frontage.

On the west elevation, there is an advanced gable with a shallow rectangular tripartite bay on the left and ground floor windows with a bracketed cornice on the right. The building features low-pitched gablet slated roofs with broad bracketed eaves, and a broad-eaved pyramid roof on the tower. The original glazing is still intact.

In the garden, there is an alcove in the west wall, which includes coursers with ashlar margins, end pilasters, and a central keyblock.
