Description

HUNGATE 1. 5340 (South Side) Nos 17 and 18 SE 7983 1/244 SE 7983 2/244 II GV 2. Late C18 or early C19 cottages of 2 storeys in coursed stone with pantile roofs, 1 new, and with coped gable ends with kneelers. No 17 has 1 small casement window above carriage entry. 2 modern windows to 1st floor and 2 modern bow windows to ground floor, all with glazing bars, as has modern door. No 18 has 2 modern mullion and transom windows below wood lintels, to both floors. Wood lintel to door of 6 panels with blocked rectangular fanlight. Included as part of a group.

Forest Vale Hotel and Wall form a group with Nos 1 to 7 (consec), 9 to 15 (consec), 17 to 22 (consec), 24 to 26 (consec), No 26A and No 27 of which Nos 7, 9, 10, 22 and 24 are of local interest.
