Description

38 Hungate is an 18th-century building that stands two storeys high, constructed from coursed stone and topped with a pantile roof featuring coped gable ends and kneelers. It has two brick stacks at the gable ends. The façade includes two hung sash windows with later glazing bars and wood lintels. The entrance features a modern door with a modern fanlight above it. A cavetto moulded eaves cornice adds detail to the roofline. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 29 to 31, Pickering United Reformed Church, and the railings and gates in the courtyard, as well as Nos 33 to 47 and Nos 49 to 52.
