Description
Numbers 18 and 20 on Longthwaite Road are two adjoining houses built in the early 19th century. They feature red sandstone rubble walls, decorative eaves modillions, and flush quoins. The houses have a 20th-century tile roof with a brick chimney stack. Each house is two storeys high and consists of a single bay under a common roof. The front doors are modern and set in chamfered surrounds beneath chamfered lintels. The windows include 2-light stone-mullioned sash windows with glazing bars, which are topped with hood moulds, and upper floor lancet casement windows also in chamfered surrounds under hood moulds. Quatrefoil recesses are present above the windows. There is a 20th-century extension at the rear, which is not of particular interest. These houses are included partly for their group value with numbers 10 and 12 Longthwaite Road.
