Description
Two houses, numbers 25 and 26 North Green, were built in the early and mid-19th century. The left-hand part of the building is constructed of coursed squared sandstone, while the right-hand part utilizes coursed rubble, both with quoins and ashlar dressings. The roofs are pantiled, with two rows of stone slates at the eaves and stone gable copings. The chimneys incorporate some brick patching.
The houses are two storeys high and feature three bays. Number 26 has a 20th-century partly-glazed door set within a plain stone surround. Number 25 has a 20th-century door within a raised stone surround, positioned to the left of the third bay. Number 26 boasts a wide stone lintel and projecting stone sill to a three-light ground-floor window with wood mullions and transoms. Two first-floor cross windows have thin wedge stone lintels and projecting stone sills. Number 25 displays flat stone lintels and projecting stone sills to renewed sashes of late 19th-century style. The steeply-pitched roof features a gable coping with horizontal feet, and banded end chimneys.
The buildings are included on the list for their group value.
