Description

This is a mid-18th century house located on the north side of North Green in Stainedrop. It is built of coursed squared sandstone with a plinth and painted ashlar dressings, and has a pantiled roof covered with stone slates at the eaves. The roof also features stone gable coping and a chimney constructed of both brick and stone. The house is three storeys high and has two bays. A renewed four-panel door is located on the left side, set within a tooled stone surround. The right bay contains late 19th-century sash windows with flat stone lintels and projecting stone sills. A trompe l'oeil sash is above the door, and a late 19th-century sash is on the top floor of the left bay. The roof has plain coping on moulded kneelers. The stone chimney has been raised in brick.
