Description

Amberly House and Eale's House are two houses dating from the early 18th century. They are constructed of ashlar stone with a plinth and feature a concrete-tiled roof with stone gable copings. The buildings are two high storeys tall and consist of five bays. The first and third bays have renewed doors set under voussoirs and large stone-bracketed hoods. Similar voussoirs are found above the sash windows, which have broad glazing bars. The roof includes moulded kneelers and high banded chimneys with external gable stacks.

The interior of No. 38, located on the right, has inserted ground-floor partitions, many two-panel doors with L-hinges, a rear stone dogleg stair, and a queen-post roof with a ridge board and carpenter's marks. The interior of No. 37 has not been inspected.
